On question that stilll seems to pop up these days is ‘What about them trebles?’. Most of us recognize some of these pictures posted on the UKBASS website. Not only dangerous stuff for yourself but - especially the lures loaded with three trebles - not great for bass either. It happened to me more than once that a small bass was hooked having one treble in its mouth as well as 2 in its side.

A solution we see regularly, is the use of single hooks. Looks great but most of us are still wondering if it will be as succesfull as a treble? It won’t hurt to give it a try some day. If someone has an experience on the single hooks he wants to share with us; please feel free to put it on our Facebook page. For protecting the bass it at least can be helpful to remove the center treble from the set of three. For most of the lures this won’t have any effect on the action.
